The world’s number one ranked men’s and women’s 3×3 teams will compete at the European Games 2023, taking place in Kraków and the region of Małopolska from 21 June – 2 July.

The Serbian men’s 3×3 team and the French women’s 3×3 team lead the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) World Ranking and will enter the European Games as the teams to beat after being crowned FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup 2022 champions in September. Serbia finished in third place in 3×3’s Olympic debut in Tokyo last year, with Olympic champions Latvia, currently ranked sixth, one of the teams looking to secure gold in Poland.

The French women’s 3×3 team are the reigning European Games champions after their triumph at Minsk 2019. The team narrowly missed out on a medal in Tokyo, finishing in fourth place, but will look to hold off number two ranked Germany and number four Lithuania in what will be a highly competitive women’s event.

Host country Poland will look to harness the home support to reach the podium at the European Games, with their number 11 ranked men’s team and number 10 ranked women’s team more than capable of causing an upset.

There are 16 countries in each draw, with every team currently ranked in the top 25 in the world. This is set to make for an enthralling tournament, which will mark the third successive appearance for 3×3 at the European Games.
